State Non-Profit Company “Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine” (hereinafter referred to as the Theatre or we) makes the following commitments to its Users/Audience Members (hereinafter referred to as you).
The User is at the heart of everything we do, as your positive experience is our highest priority.
Our aim is to maintain the User’s trust by treating personal information with respect and giving you control over it.
It is important that you know what personal information the Theatre collects about you and how we use it.
We have made every effort to keep our explanations concise and easy to understand.

Our Privacy Commitment
We make every effort to keep the information you provide to us secure in order to maintain your trust.
1. PRIVACY NOTICE
Our Privacy Notice applies depending on how you interact with the Theatre.
In particular:
- when you use our Website, technical data necessary for its operation may be processed, as well as, subject to your consent, data associated with the use of analytics cookies and third-party services;
- if you purchase or return a ticket, we may process the information necessary to complete the relevant transaction and fulfil the associated obligations.
We undertake to protect your data in accordance with the Law of Ukraine On Personal Data Protection No. 2297-VI dated 1 June 2010 (as amended).
2. HOW WE OBTAIN INFORMATION FROM YOU AND WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
- When you purchase a ticket, we collect information that may include your contact and payment details.
- The information you provide to us may include your name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, copies of official identity documents, such as your passport or ID card, taxpayer identification number, and credit or debit card details.
- When you use our Website, embedded third-party content may be used on certain pages of the Website. When such content is loaded, the relevant services may receive technical information about the user’s device and browser and may use their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- By accepting the public offer, you warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into the transaction, and you also consent to all of its terms and conditions and to this Privacy Policy.
- We may monitor or record telephone calls or other communications between you and us.
- The Theatre’s Website does not use the user’s geolocation data and does not send push notifications.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES
3.1. For the performance of our agreement with you
We use your information when you enter into a Public Offer Agreement with us so that we can:
- process your order;
- accept payment;
- provide you with the service.
3.2. For our legitimate business interests
- conduct market research and analysis to help us improve and tailor our services;
- for our marketing purposes where your consent is not required for such marketing (see below);
- send you emails, including booking confirmations and event reminders;
- prevent or detect unlawful conduct, protect or enforce our legal rights, or otherwise as permitted by law. For example, to ensure that tickets reach our Users rather than ticket resellers. Accordingly, we may use your information to prevent the unauthorised advertising of tickets, misuse of our intellectual property (for example, our brands or those of our partners), fraud or other criminal activity;
- ensure the security of our operations and those of our partners.
3.3. Purposes for which you have given your consent
- provide you with the highest possible quality of service;
- process information concerning your health in order to meet your accessibility requirements, where necessary and subject to your specific and explicit consent.
4. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH AND THIRD PARTIES
- We may disclose your information to third-party Event Organisers and other Partners, such as managers and/or marketing partners, so that they can organise and conduct the event, as well as for other purposes described in their respective privacy policies.
- When you purchase a ticket, the Website identifies the event’s partner organisers and other partners and third parties involved in the provision of services so that they can process and fulfil your orders, as well as public authorities or other authorised bodies where permitted or required by law, and any successor to all or part of the relevant business or operations.
5. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA AND UNLAWFUL INTERFERENCE AND FORCE MAJEURE
- Data is transmitted between the user’s browser and the Website via a secure HTTPS/TLS connection, which encrypts information while it is being transmitted over the network.
- Network security measures are used to protect the server infrastructure. Technical administration of the servers is carried out by a technical service provider engaged by the Theatre. System logs are retained for one month and backups for one week. Within the Theatre, access to personal data is restricted to employees who require such access in order to perform their official duties.
- We do not disclose personal data to third parties without a lawful basis. Data may be disclosed or made accessible to service providers engaged in the technical maintenance of the Website, ticket sales and payment processing, as well as to other persons in cases provided for by law, and only to the extent necessary for the relevant purpose.
- In the event of the unlawful disclosure of personal data by the Theatre, any issues relating to liability shall be determined in accordance with the laws of Ukraine.
- Personal data may be disclosed to public authorities, courts or other authorised persons in the cases and in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the laws of Ukraine.
- The Theatre implements organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or unlawful disclosure.
- We shall not be liable where data is disclosed by third parties or persons who have obtained such information unlawfully. In the event of unlawful acts by third parties and/or unlawful possession of personal data by third parties, we undertake to notify you by posting a notice on the Website or by sending you an email. We undertake to take all necessary measures to remedy the issue and safeguard personal data as soon as possible. If you become aware of any risk of unlawful activity and/or receive suspicious emails and/or messages, please notify us by email at help@opera.com.ua, thereby helping to protect others from potential data loss.
- If any unauthorised access, data breach or other security incident is identified, the Theatre will take all available measures to mitigate its consequences, protect the data and restore the operation of its services. Users may report suspicious messages or potential incidents to the Theatre at help@opera.com.ua.
- We shall not be liable where data is disclosed as a result of force majeure.
6. HOW WE USE COOKIES AND HOW YOU CAN MANAGE THEM
- The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to enable its operation, maintain the user’s session and, subject to the user’s consent, collect website usage statistics.
